Logistics Planner

Position Description / Overview:
Based in East London, within a Tier-1 Automotive Supplier, the Logistics Planner reports to the Logistics Manager.
Minimum Requirements / Experience:
Relevant tertiary qualification
5+ years' experience within automotive manufacturing
Working knowledge of industry software/system advantageous
Responsibilities:

To place weekly raw material orders with suppliers
Track customer variation on orders that could be transmitted to our supplier base
Expedite order using the standard transport mode
Escalate material or supplier problems
Ensure to monitor on-time delivery
Ensure that all import requirements are met (FCL/LCL requirements – TO's, forecasts etc)
Review and action delivery discrepancies
Manage excess and obsolescence management
Engineering change management
Work with the team on CIPs
Cycle count control of parts at risk / needing review
Supplier management

Competencies / Skills:
Good administrative experience
Strong computer skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Able to work independently
Strong communicator
