The position will report to the Engineer Logistics Methods and is based in Randjespark, Midrand.Job Purpose:Organize / Set up the project flows (physical and information flows) to ensure project satisfaction (material availability) by:Defining & implementing contractual agreement / commitments on logistics & packaging specifications with suppliers.Anticipating, defining and coordinating operational processes such as transportation optimization or logistics process and method analysis, including during SAP implementation.Key Responsibilities:Logistic Specification: Define and contractualise the logistics specifications and ensure they are applied by suppliers & participating Alstom units.National/International Flows: Set up the flows for the project or improve the current flow (optimize the repair loop; define appropriate milkrun, returnable packaging policy).Warehouse organization: Design and optimize the warehouse.Local Flows from warehouse to operations: Set up the physical & information flows (SAP) between warehouse & point of use.Ensure the definition of material & information flows at project start.Develop and provide appropriate training for team members to enable them to improve and achieve their objectives whilst effectively contributing to business performance.Continuous improvement: Manage continuous improvement for the supply chain department to meet lean manufacturing objectives.Quality management system & Documentation for all processes relating to the supply chain.Ensure Process governance, Risk and Opportunity management with site interested parties.Standardisation of tools and processes in close collaboration with other departments.Prepare, follow, and analyse QMS assessments achieved by certification bodies and main customers. Communicate about QMS improvement actions, through Quality network & APSYS (site "Quality métiers" functions).Ensure organization and consolidation of results of Supply Chain Process Reviews, APSYS and site Quality Management Review.Minimum Requirements:Grade 12 and/or minimum N3 Certificate.National Diploma or Degree in Industrial/Supply Chain/Logistics.Similar industry experience, 3-5 years in an industrial environment.Advanced knowledge of Supply chain processes especially in warehouse & material flows.ERP: SAP / Advanced in Excel.Active team player, deadline driven, process driven.Collaboration and team working with QMS department, Methods & Supply Chain team.Ability to work in a matrix organisation & Leadership.Identifies the critical tasks & resources necessary to achieve the desired objectives, takes action to ensure execution, delivery and follow-up.Closing Date: 8 November 2024Should you not hear from us in 30 days, consider your application as unsuccessful.Gibela Rail Transport Consortium (Pty) Ltd offers equal employment opportunity and subscribes to the Affirmative Action policy.
