Logistics ManagerLocation: Kuruson/Impofu, South Africa
Our client is one of the world's leading OEMs with over 30 years of experience in manufacturing highly efficient wind turbines for global onshore markets. The main activities of a Logistics Manager include tracking all deliveries of spare parts from CWH to all wind farms, arranging the return of parts back to Germany, ensuring safe storage of spare parts on wind farms, and supporting all logistical matters in case of major work on site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:Be responsible for all logistical matters in the operations department including planning, coordinating & sourcing suppliers.Support service team with respect to safety, costs, time, schedule, and quality in logistics.Assist the Materials Planner in creating purchase orders, posting goods receipts, checking stock availability, and other SAP-related tasks.Monitor and track sea & air freight shipments for all sites.Interface between clearing agent service department.Attend spare parts weekly meetings and service department ops meetings.Support Service Coordinator & Material Manager in organizing the return of defective parts for repairs and investigation to DE/ES.Responsible for all site lifting equipment and arranging maintenance/servicing with the HSE Manager.Ensure proper arrangement of stores on all sites and compliance with HSE in collaboration with Site Supervisors and Site Admin.Maintain accurate records of all purchase orders and deliveries on site in collaboration with Site Supervisors and Site Admin.Prepare tools register for all sites and ensure maintenance of tools as per manufacturer requirements.Conduct site stock-taking (TBC – quarterly or bi-annually).QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Relevant Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Inventory Management.Good English language skills (read, write and speak fluently).Valid Driving License.Experience with SAP ERP.Proficiency in Office Suite and other software is a plus.Technical background in materials and logistics.At least 2 years of professional experience in logistics management.Health and safety awareness.
