Logistics Manager Location: Maitland, Cape Town Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience Position Overview: Are you a qualified Logistics Manager with knowledge of end-to-end logistics operations including maritime, over-the road, rail, customs, and warehousing?Essential function working hands on in the factory, ensuring that the supply chain is efficient and effective. You will also be required to monitor distribution of goods being shipped to destinations.
Must be efficient operating a logistics inventory software system, advanced excel skills and have a strong foundation in data-driven decision making, quantitative methods & problem solving.
Requirements: Matric, Relevant undergraduate degree/qualification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or relevant degree in Supply Chain advantageousProven working experience as a Logistics Manager with knowledge of end-to-end logistics operations including maritime, over -the road, rail, customs, and warehousingSage experience advantageousAdvanced Excel skills essential – formulas, graphs, v-lookup, pivot tablesExcellent track record of successful distribution and logistics managementDemonstrable ability to lead and manage staffProficient in standard logistics and inventory management softwareAbility to work independently and handle multiple projectsStrong foundation in data-driven decision-making, quantitative methods, analytical, problem solving and organizational skillsResponsibilities: Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, stock control, transportation and customer pick-up and delivery services and requirements.Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries.Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle, working with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.Liaise and negotiate with logistics service providers.Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiencyArrange warehouse, plan routes and process shipmentsFacilitate accurate stock records, monthly stock counts and address variancesEffectively manage and implement receipt, invoicing, and POD controls to eliminate complaints and errors.Resolve any arising problems or complaints pertaining to shipmentsSupervise, coach and train warehouse and despatch workforceMeet relevant cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targetsMaintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvementsComply with laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
