Main Purpose of the Job The Logistics Manager (Expediter) is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the outbound logistics processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers. This role involves tracking shipments, managing inventory, liaising with stakeholders, and resolving delivery issues. The Expediter will also monitor sales progress from a delivery perspective and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Roles and Responsibilities Coordination and SchedulingPlan and schedule outbound shipments to ensure timely deliveries.Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and transport carriers to optimize delivery routes and schedules.Delivery ManagementMonitor and track the status of deliveries to ensure they are completed on time.Address and resolve any issues that arise during the delivery process, such as delays or damaged goods.Inventory ControlManage and monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock for order fulfilment.Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.Communication and LiaisonServe as the primary point of contact between various stakeholders, including suppliers, transport carriers, and customers.Maintain clear and constant communication to manage expectations and provide updates on shipment statuses.Documentation and CompliancePrepare and manage all necessary shipping documents, customs declarations, and regulatory paperwork.Ensure all outbound logistics activities comply with legal and company requirements.Performance Monitoring and ReportingTrack key performance indicators (KPIs) related to outbound logistics, such as delivery times, shipping costs, and order accuracy.Provide regular updates and reports on delivery performance and sales progress to the sales and management teams.Sales Progress SupportMonitor sales progress from a delivery perspective to ensure sales targets are met.Collaborate with the sales team to align delivery schedules with sales campaigns and promotions.Issue and Proof of Delivery (IOD and POD) MonitoringMonitor and vet Issues of Delivery (IOD) and Proof of Delivery (POD) to ensure accuracy and accountability.Resolve any disputes related to delivery times, conditions, or quantities using IOD and POD documentation.Continuous ImprovementIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of outbound logistics.Utilize advanced planning and forecasting tools to optimize inventory and delivery processes.Returns Management processingOversee & coordinate reverse logistics operations for customer returns, including damages.Maintain accurate stock records Process refunds for returns Ensure returns ratio target is metAnalyse and identify trends in customer returns to identify potential issues & implement corrective actionsOversee daily claims functionsLodge insurance claims with Marine & Local insurance companies for loss or damage of goods in transitManage warehouse claims process for 3PL warehouse inventory lossesPrepare monthly invoices and statements to 4PL for insurance claims, track payments and close the claims in the system after settlementDaily monitoring and reporting of claims and other virtual storage locationsStock counts for claims storage areaWrite-off entries for end-of-life stock and claims stock against settlement from insurance or 4PLMonitor early warning reports and clear long outstanding items pertaining to SSA Logistics operationsKPA/Major Tasks Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer servicesDealing with requests timeously and accurately, ensuring customer satisfaction. Resolve any arising problems or complaintsAble to work accurately with strong attention to detail.Able to work as part of a team to create the synergetic atmosphere between all staff affiliated with the processing.Show initiative and able to work under pressure.
