The position reports to the Logistics Manager.Job DescriptionAn opportunity exists within Safal Steel for a Logistics Coordinator to be based in KwaZulu Natal Region (Cato Ridge). The position reports to the Logistics Manager. To coordinate the day-to-day functions of the dispatch and Packing teams to ensure the targets are met through liaising with the transport companies, planning, and sales to ensure all functions are carried out in line with the company's priorities and monthly OTIF targets.Key responsibilities:Co-ordinate dispatching of finished goods in line with dispatch plan set out by planning.Co-ordinate the packing of coils in line with packing plan set out by planning and to meet the target of a minimum of 4 coils per hour.Co-ordinate dispatching of finished goods in line with the company's OTIF targets.Increase customer satisfaction through OTIF deliveries in line with planned dates.Picking and packing order control.Stock control - Weekly, monthly, and annual stock takes to be done in line with the company's requirements.Housekeeping.Assist in raising of load slips and PGI where required.Ensure that no coils are dispatched with weight discrepancies. Correct any discrepancies where required.Control of Dispatch Quality & Correctness – Coils to be dispatched and transported with zero damage 100% of the time.Ensure adequate stock of materials and supplies for packaging to prevent any line stoppages.Ensure that the final quality accepted, rework, seconds, scrap label is put on in the correct place.Conduct regular inspection of coil packing condition while loaded on trucks.Any packaging quality concerns must be recorded, photographed, and corrected before the vehicle leaves the site.Ensure compliance with the requirements of Safety, Health, and Environment Standards and Procedures.Comply with Company Policy and Procedures.Job RequirementsMinimum academic qualification: MatricQualifications as an added advantage: Diploma or Certificate in Logistics related studies.General work experience (years): 10Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): 8Computer literacy: SAP, Excel, OutlookAdditional/specific work requirements:Driver's Licence and own car.Be willing to work weekends and overtime.7t Forklift licence.Be willing to operate a forklift.#J-18808-Ljbffr
