Logistics Coordinator

National chemical manufacturing company based in Cape Town is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their growing logistics team.Key Responsibilities:Ensure compliance of the Freight Forwarding processes with Company rules and all applicable laws and regulationEnsure the good administration and filing of all the Freight Forwarding documents in line with the applicable proceduresContracting with clients and suppliersConsolidate the planning related to shipments and customs clearance of goodsCoordinate international logistics from material origin across the world to delivery at reception facilityLiaise with various stakeholders to ensure efficient operationsEnsure appropriate and correct shipping documents are obtained from the suppliers, freight forwarder, banks, etc.Optimize the activities of third party service providers and evaluate their performanceEnsure that all import activities and shipping documentation are transacted and updatedEnsure key performance indicators are reported and followed up. Prepare periodic shipping activity reportsSupervise foreign purchases invoice certification reception, Freight Forwarding banking activities, import duties and shipping paymentsBe abreast of the market, participate to the follow-up and evaluation of clearing and freight forwardersEnsure adequate record keeping of customs documents, notices, government regulatory documents and documentations of other third parties Skills and Attributes: Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and developmentHighly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externallyStrong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skillsCustomer focussedProven analytical, problem solving and organisational skillsStrong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing prioritiesProject management skillsCommercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost, production schedules and customer order fulfilmentExcellent attention to detail skills Qualifications and Experience Levels: Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree is preferredAt least 6 10 years relevant experience in International trade, Import/Export/Shipping activities preferably in relation to the Oil and Gas sectorDemonstrable general knowledge of the industryAbility to use and enrich market intelligence information, cost models, target prices, etc
