Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a skilled and experienced Lodge Manager to oversee the operations of a hunting game lodge in Alicedale, Eastern Cape. The Lodge Manager will ensure the smooth and efficient running of all lodge facilities, manage staff, provide exceptional guest experiences, and uphold the lodge's commitment to conservation and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the hunting game lodge, including accommodations, dining, recreational activities, and guest services.
Supervise lodge staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Ensure the highest standards of guest satisfaction by providing personalised service and resolving any guest issues or concerns.
Manage lodge finances, including budgeting, expense control, and revenue generation.
Maintain and enhance the lodge's commitment to wildlife conservation, sustainable practices, and environmental stewardship.
Coordinate with the Farm/Hunting Manager and wildlife experts to ensure the safety and ethical practices of hunting activities.
Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and local community members.
Implement and enforce health and safety standards and procedures.
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote the lodge and attract new guests.
Prepare regular reports on lodge performance, guest feedback, and conservation initiatives.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a relevant field (preferred).
Proven experience in lodge management, preferably in a hunting game lodge or similar outdoor hospitality environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Passion for wildlife conservation and sustainable practices.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with wildlife management and hunting regulations.
Proficiency in computer and reservation management systems.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a dynamic environment.
First aid and/or wilderness safety certifications (preferred).
Exceptional English; a foreign second language would be preferable.
