Requirements: Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in a hospitality, lodge, or remote setting.At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, with proven leadership skills.Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general building maintenance.Experience maintaining generators, solar systems, water purification systems, and waste management facilities is highly advantageous.Health and Safety: Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and best practices.Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.Budgeting and Resource Management: Proven experience managing budgets, tracking expenses, and maintaining inventory of tools and spare parts.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with staff, guests, and management.Proficiency in English; additional South African languages would be an advantage.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.Work Environment Adaptability: Comfortable living and working in a remote, bush environment with limited access to urban amenities.Physically fit to perform hands-on tasks when required.Qualifications: Educational Background: A diploma or certification in a relevant technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Systems).Additional Certifications (Preferred): First Aid certification.Safety Officer certification or equivalent training.Licensing: Valid driver's license and ability to operate maintenance-related vehicles if needed.Technology Skills: Basic computer literacy for tracking maintenance schedules, budgets, and reporting.Familiarity with maintenance management systems/software is a plus.
