Legal Claims Solutions (LCS) has a position available for a Litigation Manager who will be based in Alice Lane, Sandton.
Job DescriptionThis position requires an individual to investigate the merits of a matter, determine policy response and instruct and manage external attorneys. Monitor and manage legal costs and ensure that the external attorney adheres to the prescribed Santam Memorandum of Understanding.
Key ResponsibilitiesDetermine if the policy needs to respond to the claim lodged by applying the policy wording to the factsAppointing and managing of resourcesEnsure correct payment of costsEffective diary managementLiaise with all relevant stakeholders – which may include, brokers, administrators, underwritingService: provide excellent professional service to all relevant parties, both internal and externalAuthorisation of claims payments in accordance with mandateManage the relationship and performance of the attorneyQualifications and ExperienceMatric/Grade 12BCom LLB or LLB degreeThorough knowledge and practical experience in Civil LitigationBeing an admitted attorney will serve as an advantageProduct Knowledge: Short Term InsuranceExpert knowledge of process flow systemsSkillsExcellent client service orientationInformation acquisition and investigation skillsTime management skillsAbout the CompanySantam is the market leader in the general insurance industry in Southern Africa.
