Job purpose:
The Linux Systems Operations Administrator position fits into the 1-grid technical team who is responsible for automating, securing and maintaining reliable systems and network infrastructure. An emphasis is placed on supporting our Premier customers with technical queries, dedicated and VPS support, systems automation, stability and efficiency. 1-grid's systems and infrastructure include our office and datacenter environment which house our hosting infrastructure, network and support systems critical for the day to day operation of 1-grid.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide information which demonstrates an understanding of the 1-grid customer base and allows the marketing department to target customers for new sales.Build meaningful reports and obtain useful information for Google PPC which assists in driving new orders.Resolving premier customers technical support queriesTo provide 24/7 monitoring of company infrastructure and systemsAnalysing & troubleshooting systemsIntroducing and integrating new technologies into existing data centre environmentsBackup integrity management (Ensure availability and restorability)Patch managementAdherence to security and privacy processesDocumentation of systems and processesEnsure optimal system performance and optimizationEscalations from support departmentsInventory management, reporting any requirements and shortage to procurement team based on minimum re-order levels.
Qualifications and Experience:
Hardware/Networking fundamentals preferably in a datacenter environment (A+/ N+) or similar diploma3 - 5 years experience desirableKnowledge of Hyper-V/KVM environmentsCustomer support experienceExperience in Windows and Linux server managementBasic scripting (Bash, Powershell, Python) and cli experienceValid driver's license and reliable vehicle
Paarden Eiland, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
