Job Summary: The Fibre Link Build Manager is responsible for overseeing the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of fibre optic networks. This role ensures that fibre links are installed and maintained to meet both company standards and customer needs. The Fibre Link Manager works closely with technical teams to monitor network performance, manage troubleshooting efforts, and coordinate with external vendors for infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities: Fibre Network Management: Oversee the installation and management of fibre optic links across different locations. Ensure network reliability by implementing best practices for maintenance and monitoring. Coordinate fibre optic link design, planning, and installation activities with engineers and contractors. Team Leadership: Manage a team of fibre optic technicians, providing guidance and support for troubleshooting and project completion. Conduct performance evaluations, training sessions, and safety briefings for the team. Ensure that all staff adhere to company policies and safety standards during installation and repair. Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with third-party vendors for the procurement of materials and services. Liaise with government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements. Manage relationships with clients, ensuring timely project delivery and resolution of issues. Network Optimization: Regularly assess the performance of fibre networks and recommend upgrades or improvements to enhance performance. Work with the IT and Network Engineering teams to troubleshoot fibre-related issues and minimize downtime. Ensure that all fibre network infrastructure is properly documented, including maps, equipment, and installation details. Budget and Resource Management: Prepare and manage budgets for fibre link projects, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Track project timelines, budgets, and materials, ensuring that projects are completed within scope. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all fibre installation and maintenance activities comply with industry regulations, including safety standards. Implement and enforce safety protocols for staff working on fibre installations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in fibre optic network management or a similar role. Strong leadership and project management skills. Proficiency in fibre optic technology and infrastructure. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with fibre network design and implementation. Familiarity with industry standards like ITU, IEEE, and safety regulations. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
