We are looking to recruit a Legal Specialist to work within the Group Legal department of Clicks Group Services. The role will be based at our Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Head of Legal.Job purposeProvide expert support to senior management and the Group for high value and complex commercial transactions and strategic partnerships within the group.Job objectivesTransaction support: Play a lead role in supporting the business in M&A, JV opportunities – providing direction to senior management, supervising input from external advisors, co-ordinating compliance, tax, due diligence, financial, legal, etc., requirements, drafting and negotiating transaction documents.Regulatory & Compliance: Advising on regulatory and compliance issues relating to the consumer health care and life sciences sectors, ranging from medicine pricing (including the single exit price, dispensing fees, logistics fees, data fees), reimbursement models (capitation, fee for service etc.), the supply and distribution of, and the marketing and advertising of, medicines, medical devices and complementary medicines and the licensing of wholesalers, distributors, and retailers.Commercial contracting: Provide value-added, business-focused and practical legal advice to all business units on commercial matters including negotiation and the drafting of contracts.Leadership: Play a leadership role within the legal team (comprising both Group Legal and external lawyers, as the work requires) as well as within the Group, across functions.Value: Be capable of clearly and effectively communicating legal advice to all levels of the business and the ability to provide business-focused, practical solutions.Risk: Advising on corporate risks (including managing organizational compliance with the requirements of a regulated industry), actions to take to mitigate those risks and strategies for negotiation to maximise the opportunity in risk.Initiative: Taking the initiative to keep up to date with new areas of law and identify any trends which may impact on the Group.
