Legal Officer

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: Assisting the General counsel in managing the companys legal and business affairs Have a strong understanding of copyright law Ensure compliance with relevant legislation Research legal aspects required by the organization. Review and draft contracts and policies as required by business. Initiating internal infringement processes Prepare and present legal advice and opinion Continuously review and implement dispute resolution processes - counterclaims Licensing and Service Level contract drafting, review and negotiations Attend and present at workshops, roundtable discussions and forum logistics Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge: LLB with interest in Copyright Law 4 years relevant experience in copyright Experience working in a CMO or Music publishing company will be an added advantage Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office Analytical and research skills Attention to detail Organizational skills Time management Persuasive communication Written communication skills Interpersonal skills Implement dispute resolution Technical skills.
