Our client, specializing in the labour relations industry in the Johannesburg region, is seeking a Legal & Compliance Manager, who would fit in well with their dynamic team.
Reporting into the CEO on all matters.

Qualifications and Requirements • Legal Management of staff experience – minimum 5 Years • MS Office • Experience working on SAP • Post graduate qualification in Labour Relations or legal qualification • Sound knowledge of collective bargaining • Managerial Experience (ESSENTIAL) • Willing to travel to regions – valid Driver's Licence • Own reliable transport essential Duties include the following, but not limited to: • Provide legal interpretation and advice to the General Secretary and Bargaining Council Staff.
• Management of staff in various regions • Review and provide advice on legal documents • Monitor and review on-going cases and advise management accordingly • Represent the Council in arbitration or other proceedings as may be required by the General Secretary.
• Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage engagement of external lawyers • Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly • Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management in relation to general compliance and in relation to contract management • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been • identified, appropriate courses of action are taken • Disseminate legal information and requirements to staff and conduct training of staff.
• Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures • Review and/or draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are following all statutory or other legal requirements • Receive, review and present exemptions applications and draft outcome letters.
• Formulate compliance checklists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly • Ensure implementation of relevant internal control measures • Day to day management of Designated Agents, setting of targets for the Designated Agents and ensuring all monthly plans are aligned to the strategic vision of the Council • Management of compliance order processes • Management of the Case Management function and ensuring that monthly plans are aligned to the strategic vision of the Bargaining council • Ensure all information is captured and updated on the SAP system.
• Develop strategic plans for the "legal team" and assist with the preparation of Budgets • Prepare and consolidate monthly reports from Agents for presentation to the General Secretary • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the department for executive management meetings • Provide continuous leadership, supervision, training and development of case management staff and agents ensuring an effective and motivated team • Conducting performance appraisals and ensure competency and training gaps are registered • Develop an annual Skills Development Plan for the Designated Agents and Case Managers • General Office Management Requirements: • Degree and/or Labour Law experience (ESSENTIAL) • MS Office • Experience working on SAP • Post graduate qualification in Labour Relations • Sound knowledge of collective bargaining • Managerial Experience (ESSENTIAL) • Willing to travel to regions – valid Driver's Licence • Own reliable transport essential Salary: R48 000 TCTC
