This position reports to the Senior Legal Counsel Your responsibilities will include: Engage with a broad range of external and internal stakeholders to help shape the environment in which the company operates.Continually assess and address policy risks by monitoring the public policy landscape, the impact of public policy changes and advising to the business.Write or edit submissions to the government.Ensure that all businesses adhere to regulatory requirements.Implement policies and procedures related to legal compliance and key risk areasDevelop and implement a regulatory and compliance training and communications program that raises awareness and educates employeesEnsure appropriate monitoring and oversight is in place to constantly improve and test the effectiveness of the overall compliance program.Collect information and data and report on the status of the compliance program to management and shareholders Attributes required: Proactive with a consistently positive attitudeTeam playerGood drafting skillsAbility to work hard independently and within a teamAbility to prioritise tasks and meet deadlinesAbility to communicate well orally and in writingStrong planning and organisational skillsDetail-orientated whilst remaining practicalGood working knowledge of South African law in generalBusiness focused and able to maintain a network of relationships with a large range of different partners, both internal and external.
