Employer DescriptionA successful fledgling Law firm operational for 3 years with 14 Staff Members. Located in Johannesburg Northern Suburbs.Job DescriptionOur Client seeks an experienced Bookkeeper who is exceptionally competent with Payroll (Payslips), VAT and Managing SARS/VAT inquiries and trouble-shooting to ensure Company compliance.The firm has always outsourced its Accounting function and has been audited annually but there are some VAT disputes which need handling and so full understanding and experience in this area is required. This need not be a full-time role, perhaps initially more time will be needed to set up systems and structures but beyond would require maintenance.Main areas of responsibility will include:Overseeing the Accounting, Debtors, Creditors, and Payroll DepartmentsWeekly - Financial ReportsRunning PayrollMonthly -Trust bank charges management and recon, Trust transfer, Creditors Ageing Report, Debtors Ageing ReportReview of General ledger and ensure correct allocation thereof & cashbook recons to T/B, resolving any discrepancies and management of entries in the control accountEnsure financial records are maintained in compliance with acceptable policies and proceduresReview and approval of VAT recons as well as submissions and payments timeouslyMonitoring and control of bank accounts and beneficiaries/payments transfers etc incl international payments / processesPlan, co-ordinate the department around the set time frames surrounding weekly, monthly and yearly targets and foster quality performance standardsProcess Salaries, Salary Journals and monthly statutory requirementsEstablish, manage and maintain accounting procedures. Systems and modelsProcess Vat, PAYE etc and submit relevant statutory returns and meet relevant requirementsEffective control and management / reporting of Cash flow forecasts, budgets, Management Accounts, Financials reporting, and cost and expense reviewAn in-depth understanding and planning around the Law Firm Business Risks and Processes, solid experience budgeting for Litigation mattersMonth End Closing off, Year-end processing and prep and liaise with AuditorsCompliance and effective control - internal processes, CSD Portal, BEE, SARS, CIPC etcQualificationsRelevant QualificationsSkills5+ years of experience ideally within Legal Bookkeeping. Strong knowledge of VAT, SARS Submissions and Payroll as well as Creditors and Debtors management and Reporting. Proven stable and reliable track record.Salary / PackageR10,000-R25,000 per month dependent on hours worked (Part Time vs Full Time)BenefitsNegotiable #J-18808-Ljbffr
