Legal and Compliance OfficerOur client in the Cement Industry is seeking Legal and Compliance Officer to join their team in Midrand, who will be responsible for ensuring that the organization operates in full compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
This role involves providing legal guidance, overseeing compliance programs, and mitigating legal risks to protect the organization's interests.
The officer will collaborate with internal teams, monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, and manage risk mitigation strategies to maintain legal and regulatory compliance across all functions of the business.Location: MidrandJob type: On-siteDuties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor compliance programs and policiesOversee compliance audits and ensure corrective actions are taken in response to findingsConduct training sessions for staffEnsure the company's practices align with industry standards and best practices for complianceProvide legal advice and support to senior management, business units, and departments on a wide range of legal matters, including contract law, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory mattersReview and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documentsIdentify legal and regulatory risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.Monitor and analyse changes in laws andAdvise on the legal implications of strategic business decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, and expansions.Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and industry associations.Ensure timely and accurate submissions of reports, filings, and other regulatory requirements.Represent the company in dealings with regulators and manage responses to investigations or enforcement actions.Manage legal disputes and oversee the resolution process, including negotiations and litigation.Work with external legal counsel when necessary, ensuring that the company's interests are effectively represented in court or arbitration proceedingsAssist in the development, enforcement and compliance of corporate governance laws and policies.Assisting Human Resources with respective Industrial Relation matters (Advisory, representative role)BEE ShareholdingMinimum RequirementsRelevant degree.5 years + experience in a legal and compliance role preferably in a corporate environment.In depth knowledge of laws, regulations and standardsStrong legal analytical skillsShould you wish to be considered for this opportunity, please apply directly to the advertisement.
