Our client, specializing in the labour relations industry in the Johannesburg region, is seeking a Legal & Compliance Manager, who would fit in well with their dynamic team.
Reporting into the CEO on all matters.Qualifications and RequirementsLLB Degree and/or post-graduate qualification in Labour RelationsMS OfficeExperience working on SAPPost graduate qualification in Labour RelationsSound knowledge of collective bargainingManagerial Experience (ESSENTIAL)Willing to travel to regions – valid Driver's LicenceOwn reliable transport essentialDuties include the following, but not limited to:Provide legal interpretation and advice to the General Secretary and Bargaining Council Staff.Review and provide advice on legal documentsMonitor and review on-going cases and advise management accordinglyRepresent the Council in arbitration or other proceedings as may be required by the General Secretary.Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage engagement of external lawyersContinuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordinglyProvide legal protection and risk management advice to management in relation to general compliance and in relation to contract managementLiaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have beenidentified, appropriate courses of action are takenDisseminate legal information and requirements to staff and conduct training of staff.Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and proceduresReview and/or draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are following all statutory or other legal requirementsReceive, review and present exemptions applications and draft outcome letters.Formulate compliance checklists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordinglyEnsure implementation of relevant internal control measuresDay to day management of Designated Agents, setting of targets for the Designated Agents and ensuring all monthly plans are aligned to the strategic vision of the CouncilManagement of compliance order processesManagement of the Case Management function and ensuring that monthly plans are aligned to the strategic vision of the Bargaining councilEnsure all information is captured and updated on the SAP system.Develop strategic plans for the "legal team" and assist with the preparation of BudgetsPrepare and consolidate monthly reports from Agents for presentation to the General SecretaryPrepare monthly and quarterly reports for the department for executive management meetingsProvide continuous leadership, supervision, training and development of case management staff and agents ensuring an effective and motivated teamConducting performance appraisals and ensure competency and training gaps are registeredDevelop an annual Skills Development Plan for the Designated Agents and Case ManagersGeneral Office Management Requirements:LLB Degree and/or Labour Law experience (ESSENTIAL)MS OfficeExperience working on SAPPost graduate qualification in Labour RelationsSound knowledge of collective bargainingManagerial Experience (ESSENTIAL)Willing to travel to regions – valid Driver's LicenceOwn reliable transport essentialSalary: R48 000 TCTC Please send your updated CV to ******
