Legal Advisor - Operations Legal

Description of the role Manage matters from the various business units such as: Digital and Technology, SA Group Marketing, and various central support services including but not limited to Procurement, Finance, ESG, and Facilities.Understand business requirements, internal agreed processes, and established risk thresholds in order to negotiate and oversee the contracting process end-to-end.Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external parties and vendors.
Description of the skill and experience required Required: Completed Law degree preferably with admission.Good commercial awareness: ability to quickly understand benefit and/or risk/s in a deal/transaction or proposal and be able to apply your experience and legal knowledge and convey same to leadership.Must have demonstrable experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating binding documents in general.Problem solving ability.Ability to confidently convey advice or strategy to management and senior leadership in person and in writing.
Advantageous skills and experience: Experience in IT especially licencing agreements, cloud and SaaS related projects, SOWs, SLAs, AI, and data protection/privacy.Demonstrable experience in working with market data contracts and in particular with exchanges globally and vendors in the market data space.Experience in managing work which impacts any Regulator requirements.Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the newest technologies or trends trending globally.Experience working with vendors and other external third parties in any demonstrable capacity.
