Job Title: Civil Engineering Faculty PositionMinimum RequirementsMaster's degree and undergraduate study in Civil Engineering or equivalentAt least 3 years of academic and/or industry experience in Civil Engineering or equivalentGood communication and lecturing skillsAdditional RequirementsDemonstrate innovative thinking towards teaching and learningQualification that qualifies you to register as a Professional Engineer/Professional Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)Preference will be given to candidates who are already registered as a Professional Engineer/Professional Engineering Technologist with the ECSAA strong passion for teaching and researchEvidence of research and post-graduate supervision would be an added advantageTeaching and record of research publications in accredited journals would be a strong recommendationA Doctorate will be an added advantage.Preference will be given to applicants who are registered for a PhD.Summary of DutiesTake responsibility for the teaching, learning and assessing of modules offered, at all levels, and associated with the Civil Engineering programme/s in the DepartmentMake major contributions to the academic quality by providing leadership of all aspects of offerings associated with the Civil Engineering programme/s in the DepartmentLead, develop, design, and review all learning content associated with the Civil Engineering programme/s in the DepartmentBe willing to participate in curriculum developmentParticipate and augment departmental researchActive participation in industrial projects (project-based learning)Engage and promote community projects/external engagement services including playing an active role in the functioning of professional and subject-related associationsUndertake administration and other academic duties as assigned by the Head of Department
