Minimum requirements for Lecturer (Permanent): A Masters degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent qualification. At least two years lecturing experience at higher education institution and/or four years' clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Registration with the HPCSA as a Radiographer. Experience in clinical supervision of Nuclear Medicine Technology students (recommended). A postgraduate qualification in Higher Education (recommended). Preference will be given to applicants with lecturing experience.

Current and updated Continuous Professional Development portfolio. Current registration for a Masters degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology (recommended). Experience in clinical supervision of Nuclear Medicine Technology students (recommended). A postgraduate qualification in Higher Education (recommended).
The appointment at Junior Lecturer level is a 5-year contract subject to completion of Masters degree qualification within this period. Upon completion of the Masters qualification, conversion to permanent and at Lecturer level will be subject to institutional governance for approval. Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities Lecturing to students and conducting assessments of various subject areas in Nuclear Medicine Technology at BSc level. Conduct clinical teaching and training in Nuclear Medicine Technology including tutorials, practical demonstrations and assessments at all levels, covering all relevant areas within Nuclear Medicine Technology and liaison with clinical facilities in which work integrated learning takes place. Partake in clinical teaching for the Provincial Department of Health, Western Cape Government and private practices. Assist with the coordination of the Nuclear Medicine Technology programme and liaison with clinical facilities in which work integrated learning takes place. Academic and clinical programme planning and management, inclusive of associated organization and administrative duties. Participate in Curriculum development and ongoing quality and programme review. Building partnerships with industry and communities through e.g. service-learning projects. Participate in research and co-supervision of Master's students (for lecturer position). Plan, coordinate and supervise academic activities. Identify at risk students, develop intervention strategies and monitor student progress. Be involved and assist with quality assurance and regulatory body accreditation. Conduct research and contribute towards departmental research output. Perform other functions as may be assigned by the head of department.
