Job Description PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: At the NWU Business School, we shape executive minds in Africa. The primary role is to engage in postgraduate teaching, master's degree supervision, and business-related research activities within the Business School. The focus will be on the Postgraduate Diploma in Management, with a specialisation in Corporate Governance.
Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning (incl. Postgraduate Supervision) Deliver high-quality postgraduate lectures in Corporate Governance, ensuring students grasp both theoretical and practical aspects.Research Engage in business-related research activities, contributing to the school's academic excellence.Academic Leadership, Management, and Service Participate in academic leadership roles, contribute to committee involvement, and assist in student advising and recruitment.Social Responsiveness Actively participate in community initiatives, showcasing the school's commitment to social responsibility.Minimum Requirements An LLM (NQF Level 9) or equivalent qualification in Corporate Governance or a relevant field.A minimum of three (3) years' industry experience in Corporate Governance.Demonstrated competence in postgraduate teaching and student supervision.Proven expertise in curriculum and learning material design, utilisation of teaching-learning technologies, and effective assessment practices.ADDED ADVANTAGES Participation in academic leadership, management, or university service at committee level.Evidence of social responsiveness and community engagement.Key Functional/ Technical Competencies Clear evidence of strength in teaching and learning in a blended environment and research and innovation activity.Knowledge, skills, and practical experience in the field of Corporate Governance. Excellent problem-solving skills.Demonstrated a high standard of interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated language skills (in English and at least one other official South African Language) to function optimally within the multi-lingual environment of the NWU.BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES Excellent people and conflict resolution skills. Ability to apply time management and work independently.Proficiency in group collaboration.Demonstrated initiative and leadership in research and teaching.Ability to maintain effective and constructive interpersonal relationships.Strong results and people orientation, instilling trust, driving diversity, transformation, and ethics.REMUNERATION The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
