CORE PURPOSE OF JOB To create, design, develop, facilitate and administer the learning and teaching process for students in modules presented by the Nelson Mandela University at undergraduate level and postgraduate level., To participate in, contribute towards and do research and innovation, contribute to community, professional and discipline engagement and to be involved in the core functions of the University.
To lecture subjects at the undergraduate and postgraduate level in the School of Information Technology, Department of IT Management and Governance and potentially across departments in the school, faculty or institution (depending on the operational needs).
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Facilitate teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate level.Contribute to the creation of knowledge by virtue of postgraduate studies, research, innovation, publications and postgraduate supervision.Perform academic administration.Incorporate trends with regard to learning and teaching to ensure a student-centred learning experience.Maintain relevant and up to date learning and teaching material by integrating latest IT/technology trends.Participate in projects targeted at community service and engagement.Ensure that the modules comply with all quality requirements.CORE COMPETENCIES Possess sound knowledge of the theory and application of Information Security and Cybersecurity.Ability to facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Information Security and Cybersecurity.Knowledge in the fields of IT Project Management and IT Service Management would be advantageous.Ability to actively engage in and supervise post graduate research.Ability to synthesize information to design learning experiences.Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences through various media.Ability to work well with other members of the Department and as part of a team.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.REQUIREMENTS A Masters degree in Information Technology or related field (Computer Science or Information Systems) with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.
Evidence of teaching experience at undergraduate level.
Industry experience would be advantageous.
