Qualifications and Experience:At least an NQF 8 which is a Postgraduate Diploma or an Honours degree in the above-mentioned fields.3-5 years of lecturing experience in higher education, particularly in Traffic Policing, Metropolitan Policing, or related fields.Experience as a Traffic or Metropolitan police official or with agencies like the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) is an advantage.Key Responsibilities:Educational Excellence:Deliver engaging in-person and distance learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs.Maintain the quality and relevance of study materials, assessments, and overall curriculum.Research and Innovation:Conduct rigorous research to inform program development.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, integrating them into the curriculum.Student Support and Interaction:Provide comprehensive support to students through regular contact sessions, query handling, and guidance.Foster a supportive and stimulating learning environment.Quality Assurance:Continuously review and enhance program quality to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and industry benchmarks.Professional Collaboration:Engage with fellow faculty, committees, professional organizations, and the policing community.Contribute insights and promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.Personal and Professional Development:Pursue ongoing professional development and research in metropolitan policing and road safety.Administrative and Organizational Oversight:Coordinate various organizational and administrative aspects of the Traffic and Metropolitan policing programs.Ensure smooth operation, compliance, and alignment with institutional goals.Faculty Management Assistance:Play a leadership role in internal and external meetings.Maintain stakeholder relationships.Oversee administrative tasks and special projects as delegated.Provide leadership and guidance to other faculty members.Act as Head of Faculty when required in the absence of the substantive Head of Faculty.Research Responsibilities:Conduct research for program development and regular program review.Ensure alignment with current legal and policing standards and practices.Study Material Review:Continuously review and improve study materials to ensure relevancy and compliance with Traffic and Metropolitan Policing education standards.Assessment Development:Design, set, and mark assignments and examination papers.Ensure alignment with program learning outcomes and legal competencies.Student Interaction:Conduct and facilitate contact sessions, creating an engaging and interactive learning environment for students.Student Tracking and Graduation Coordination:Oversee the faculty's student tracking processes.Approve students for graduation, monitor student portal use, and assignment submission.Quality Control:Ensure the quality control of modules and programs allocated.Maintain alignment with legal accreditation and industry standards.Committee Participation:Engage in various faculty and institutional committees as required.Contribute your expertise and insights.Professional Development:Pursue ongoing research and professional development in the field of policing to maintain and enhance subject-matter expertise.If you're ready to make a significant impact in the field of policing education, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
