Lecturer: Civil Engineering (Re-advertisement) - (7378)Job Title: Lecturer: Civil Engineering (Re-advertisement)Faculty: Engineering and the Built EnvironmentDepartment: Civil Engineering & SurveyCampus/Location: Cape Peninsula University of TechnologyJob Type: PermanentNumber of Positions: 1Advert Closing Date: 20/10/2024Job Purpose:The ability to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and produce prospective graduates in the fields of Civil Engineering & Geomatics. Contribute to academic initiatives undertaken by the department to enhance learning according to industry and the department's teaching & learning goals. Incorporate teaching & learning, and research & innovation outcomes into an academic project.Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. All base qualifications must be in Civil Engineering.At least 2 years relevant teaching experience in higher education or 2 years industrial experience in the Civil Engineering Industry.Must be registered with ECSA Professional Body or must be willing to register within 12 months of employment.Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities:Lecturing Civil Engineering subjects in the Civil Engineering ProgrammeDevelop innovative teaching and learning materialsContribute to curriculum and programme developmentPromote community participation, linkages, outreach and industry liaisonSupervise and mentor studentsAssessment and academic developmentAssist with departmental administrationParticipate in the Quality Assurance activities of the DepartmentProficiency in English (written and spoken)Computer literacy in MS Office with good organizational and time management skillsAptitude for continuous learningGood communication and presentation skillsAbility to work independentlyKnowledge of continuous evaluation and integrated assessmentStrong learner focusInterpersonal skillsCoaching and mentoring skillsTeam memberGeneral Information:Closing Date: 20 October 2024The Cape Peninsula University of Technology is committed to Employment Equity and aims to attract and retain talented individuals to achieve our equity objectives.
