Lecturer: Civil Engineering (JB4771)

Responsibilities:

Responsible for teaching and learning in a specific subject field on campus, namely Civil Engineering.
Facilitate student learning through interactive classroom teaching, promote student engagement, and support the student learning experience.
Promote student success through initiatives that improve student retention and throughput rates.
As a subject matter expert, keep abreast of developments in the subject area and assure the quality of the delivery of subject content.
Ensure relevancy of the learning material such that the learning outcomes are achieved.

Educational Requirements:

Relevant qualification in the subject area that meets the regulatory one-up level and at least a degree for higher education programmes.
Postgraduate qualification is advantageous and a requirement for any lecturer teaching on a degree level.
Proven teaching portfolio that evidences student support and success.
Minimum 1 year lecturing experience required, with 3 or more years' experience preferred.
Possess specialist knowledge and technical skills in the subject discipline to develop teaching programmes and materials and provide learning support.
Actively participate in own professional academic development, including awareness of requirements set out by regulatory bodies, quality councils, institutional standards, and policies.
