Lecture and assess contact learning and distance learning students in the BEd (Foundation Phase Teaching) and BEd (Intermediate Phase Teaching) following modules: Teaching Home Language Afrikaans (THLA20) Afrikaans Home Language 1 (AHL100) Afrikaans First Additional Language 1 (AHL100) Literacy Afrikaans First Additional Language (LAA302) Perform the role and responsibilities of the module coordinator (MC). Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials. Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules. Participate in relevant programmes, curriculum, and material development. Carry out allocated internal moderation responsibilities. Carry out invigilation of venue-based assessments as the Registrar's Office reasonably requires. Participate in school-based Teaching Practice assessments. Provide academic support to students. Complete all Quality Assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes. Participate in research and community engagement projects. Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management. Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with all policies and SOPs. Participate in and attend meetings and workshops. Fulfil functions on relevant committees and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management. Fulfill all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager. REQUIREMENTS Minimum Qualification Requirements: Minimum Bachelor of Education Honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in Afrikaans Home and First Additional Language. Minimum Experience Requirements: At least 3 years of teaching and/or lecturing experience in Afrikaans Home Language and Afrikaans First Additional Language for the Foundation and Intermediate Phases. Excellent Afrikaans communication skills. Experience in curriculum and materials development. Experience in online and blended teaching and learning environments. Attributes: Sound teaching and assessment skills. Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational, time management, and coordination skills with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and adhere to deadlines. High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to cope with change. Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
