Job Purpose: The objective is to fill the position of Accounting lecturer in the Department of Senior Phase and FET with a staff member with expertise in this area.
Please note that the position is based at the Wellington campus where tuition is in Afrikaans. Candidates must be able to teach in Afrikaans. Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Accounting as a major subject at undergraduate level.A relevant teaching qualification (preferable at secondary school level).Two (2) years relevant lecturing experience in SP & FET at tertiary level or five (5) years' relevant teaching experience at school level.Fluency in English and Afrikaans - B.Ed tuition on the Wellington campus is in Afrikaans.Recommendations: Relevant research output.Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities: Teaching Accounting in the SP & FET department.Curriculum development and other learning materials.Supervising students on teaching practice.Conducting and promoting research in the department/faculty (including publications and supervision).Academic administration, development, and administration.Adequate content and pedagogical content knowledge.Assessment and Quality Assurance.Learner support.Mentoring and support of students (and staff).Teamwork and collaboration.Engagement and building partnerships/Networking with schools and other partners.Ability to align yourself to hybrid teaching and learning models (face-to-face and on-site learning).Perform other ad hoc functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department.Excellent professional and technical knowledge in the subject area.Excellent teaching skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong learner focus, mentoring and support for learners.Good administrative and organizational skills (record keeping, etc.).Continuous learning.Ability to work in a team.Meticulous planning and organizing skills/Time Management.Coaching and mentoring skills.Good work ethics and ability to manage work.Technical and Professional Knowledge and skills.General Information: For enquiries and assistance with your online application, please contact Ms. Viwe Lalela, Human Capital Department at ****** or 021 460 3351.
