Purpose of the role:The purpose of this role is to drive the development and implementation of effective learning and development initiatives that align with business objectives and strategic priorities. This includes conducting learning needs assessments, facilitating diverse learning programs, managing training resources and budgets, and ensuring the delivery of impactful training interventions. The role also involves building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on best practices in learning and development, and continuously improving the organization's learning strategy through innovative approaches and ongoing professional development.Key Responsibilities1. Learning Needs Analysis & Impact Measurementa. Conduct learning needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.b. Collaborate with business leaders and HRBPs to align learning initiatives with business objectives and strategic priorities.c. Measure the impact of learning interventions using feedback surveys, assessments, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with desired outcomes.2. Training implementationa. Implementation of training plans aligned to the talent framework and succession plans.b. Coach and guide all relevant functional areas on learning and development processes and systems.c. Completion of and assistance with the completion of monthly reports that fall within the Maritime Academy.d. Manage training resources and budgete. Remain abreast of all legislative changes in your area of responsibility.f. Ensure all training delivered is in line with and meet the Groups BBBEE Skills Development strategy.3. Facilitation of Learning Interventionsa. Facilitate diverse learning programmes, including learnerships and skills programmes under Oceana's accreditation. As well as non-accredited in-house programmes developed by the Academy team.b. Ensure sessions are engaging, interactive, and tailored to meet the needs of diverse employee groups.c. Use a variety of facilitation techniques to promote active participation and knowledge transfer.4. Project Management & Program Coordinationa. Manage the end-to-end delivery of learning projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.b. Manage coordination of logistics for in-person and virtual learning sessions, including scheduling, materials preparation, and participant communication.5. Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Managementa. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their development needs and provide tailored solutions.b. Act as a trusted advisor on best practices in learning and development, helping leaders to create a culture of continuous learning.c. Partner with external vendors and training providers to enhance learning offerings where required.6. Continuous Improvement & Self-Developmenta. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in learning and development, incorporating innovative approaches into the organization's learning strategy.b. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance facilitation, coaching, and instructional design skills.Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:• Strong facilitation and presentation skills• Ability to engage diverse audiences and drive online learning adoption• Strong project management and organizational skills• Effective communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management• Innovative mindset with a passion for continuous learningQualifications and Experience:• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).• 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, with a focus on facilitation and content development.• Certification in Insights Discovery or similar coaching frameworks is advantageous.• Experience with digital learning platforms and online course creation.• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.Location:• West Coast, Lucky Star Operations, St Helena Bay and Amawandle Pelagic, Laaiplek
