As a Lead Engineer within Betway, you'll form a vital part of the management team and effectively lead and manage the development portfolio and related activities, helping us excel at creating an exceptional customer experience to stay ahead of the game.
What you'll be doing As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:
Management of a Software Development team, including recruitment, appraisals, and other related management functions.Attend project kick-off meetings with clients and ensuring all projects are project managed, tracked, and delivered upon to customer expectations and within required timelines.Work together with product owners, business analysts and technical leads to deliver high quality software product.Taking part in Scrum rituals such as stand-ups, planning sessions, demos, and retrospectives.Taking part in team activities such as collaborative development and code-reviews.Taking part in cross-team activities such as knowledge-sharing and documentation.Helps to achieve Sprint goals.Provide guidance to Product Owners and Business Analysts to assist execution of their respective Agile Projects.Educate, reinforce, and coach team members and stakeholders in all facets of Agile/ Scrum.Ensure a proper power balance between Product Owner and Software Development Team.Works with Product Owners.Supports Team building and Team development by utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals and fostering feedback culture.Ensures and supports empowerment of the Team.Addreses needs efficiently and effectively.Helps Team to learn from its experiences.Designing and planning technical solutions to meet business requirements.Coding and developing features for new and existing products.Upkeep and maintenance of existing products.This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Essential skills you'll bring to the table The necessary skills that we require for this role include:
Strong leadership and people management competencies.Leadership experience supporting the delivery of business value.At least 6 years hands-on development experience.Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks like Reactjs/Nextjs.Proven experience in working with Azure or AWS.Experience with front-end build tools such as Webpack/Gulp.Familiarity with CSS preprocessors like SASS/LESS.Computer Science related degree, diploma, or similar qualification.Solid Understanding of C# and .NET.Be prepared to work in a 24/7 environment.Desirable skills you've got up your sleeve It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:
