Lead Decision Scientist
A seasoned professional is sought to lead a team of specialists in Credit Decision Science, translating business data into strategic information to inform credit and risk indicators.
Our client in the banking industry is looking for an experienced Lead Decision Scientist.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure deliverables align with Credit Decision Science objectives, plans, processes, and standards
Lead a team of specialists to perform analysis and translate business data into strategic information
Identify critical and measurable credit and risk indicators
Qualifications:
Honours Degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline or STEM field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science with focus on Machine Learning)
Master's degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline or STEM field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science with focus on Machine Learning) (Ideal)
Experience:
4+ years' relevant experience in Data Science
Experience in extracting and aggregating data from large relational databases, data mining, and predictive modelling
Leadership experience in project/leading of analyst/data scientist (Preferred)
Knowledge:
Analytics
Predictive Modelling and Machine Learning
Project management methodologies
IT implementation cycle
Technical understanding and knowledge (different operating systems/databases/programming languages)
General business acumen
Retail or Banking credit environment/industry
Credit cycle
Best practices and tools in credit risk
Interpretation of user requirements and translation into business requirements specifications
Confidentiality and intellectual property implications and constraints
