This role is also responsible for vetting new customers, granting of credit limits, and managing of risks related to the granting of credit.Qualifications (Formal Qualification Required)MinimumBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Commerce (NQF Level 7)IdealPostgraduate in Business Administration is advantageousMDP is advantageousCertificate in Credit Management is advantageousLegal (e.g., Driver's License, etc.)MinimumDriver's licenseExperience (Minimum Experience Required and number of years)MinimumCustomer-facing experience within manufacturing, heavy industry or FMCGIdealExperience in SAP ERP is advantageousKPA / Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this PositionCredit ManagementAssess new customers and determine appropriate level of credit to offerAssess credit risks and review credit increases for existing customersAssess the current debtor's book and ensure that the outstanding balances are kept to a minimum and that collections are maintainedManage customers who are trading close to their existing credit limitsAlert customers when their credit limit has been breachedReduce bad debt by developing and implementing a credit payment plan for defaulting customersImplement and maintain relevant credit management policiesIdentify payments made but not yet allocated to release orders to customersReview reconciliations carried out by credit controllers to understand payment issuesInvestigate price queries from customers related to short payments against orders and ensure price alignment with sales teamCreate and enforce a governance framework to determine what orders can be authorised for releaseTrack overtrading customers and hand over customer accounts for repeated non-paymentResponsible for monthly credit management reports for RSA and Botswana and International entitiesIdentify, draft, develop and implement operational processes, policies, and guidelines.Stakeholder Management and Business PartnershipsEngage with sales on blocking of orders for customers over credit limits or in defaultProvide reports to stakeholders relating to credit collections and defaulting customersPeople ManagementManage the performance of direct reports and monitor adherence to expected standards.Offer guidance and support and if required take appropriate disciplinary actionCoach and train team members to perform optimally in their rolesProvide direct reports with opportunities for growth and development through on-the-job training and feedbackParticipate in the selection and appointment of new team membersSupport the onboarding of new team membersConduct regular meetings and promote open and ongoing communication with the teamApprove the leave of direct reports and manage overtime where applicableLeadershipIs this a leadership role?StrategicCompetencies (Skills and Behaviour Attributes)SkillsManagement accountingFinancial process management (customer and suppliers)Corporate financeFinancial Business AnalysisCost ManagementBehavioural AttributesWe always do the right things: We hold each other accountable and always act with integrityExcellence in all we do: We strive for excellence in all we doOur people our strength: We value all our people and recognise that each one of usPassion: We inspire each other with our positive attitude and energy as we strive to be the bestCustomer Focused: Our customers are at the heart of all we do, and we exceed their expectations every timeKnowledgeNational Credit ActCredit applicationsVAT applications and the relevant legislationSAP ERP is advantageousFinancial governance and complianceDesired Skills:Bachelor degree in Finance Accounting or commerceCertificate in Credit ManagementCustomer-facing experience within manufacturingSAP ERPStakeholder Management and Business PartnershipsPeople ManagementNational Credit ActCredit applicationsVAT applications and the relevant legislation
