Every day, more than 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.PURPOSE OF THE JOB:Set up full supplier selection processEnsure project execution in line with Quality Cost Delivery & Technical (QCDT) objectivesPilot contractual relationships with suppliers for his/her scope on different sitesSupport supplier Panel relationship (supplier capacity; capability; negotiation and specific contract as per scope)POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION:Located in Nigel (Ekurhuleni) at the production siteMay also be required to visit suppliers and other Alstom sites/officesWork with Cross Functional Teams to execute Sourcing Strategies i.e. Central Teams, Suppliers, Projects Team, Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Supply-Chain, Quality, Engineering, Economic Development, Legal, Finance, etc.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Support Procurement Manager in leading the teamPlay in leading role in Sourcing Projects (RFx) supporting the BuyerTo execute day-to-day buying at a specific region and ensure that purchasing transactions are directed through the correct procure-to-pay channel (e.g., emergency order vs pre-sourced order)Integrated in each domain team, the Buyer will deploy commodity strategy to serve local requirements while keeping in line with the Global Strategy at Central (ALSTOM)The Lead Buyer will also be required to manage the contractual relationship with suppliers.RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare and launch of Request for Quotation with suppliersEnsure work package sheet commitment respectPrepare Business AwardPromote the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhere to the highest standards of ethical conductCoordinate project with all métiersEnsure the on-time delivery and quality are secured especially during the ramp-up phase of the projectSUPPORT COMMODITY STRATEGY:Consolidate the commodity needs, inputsParticipate actively to commodity strategy and panel elaborationProvide inputs to build differentiationSupport of Commodity Manager in tender phaseRepresent the commodities towards projects, platforms and solutionsEnsure effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solvingApply the Alstom Procurement process and provide return on experienceBUILD SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP:Support global supplier panel relationshipManage specific supplier panel relationship (negotiation, specific agreement, local supplier QCDT performances)Measure the supplier's performance and develop them in coordination with supplier Quality TeamAssess properly all risky suppliers and manage the associated mitigation planManage initial issues before escalation to line managerMonitor Corporate Social Responsibility engagements and deviationsRespect Alstom code of ethics and guidelinesPERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:Savings P&L and Cost to CompleteNon Conformities Event and On Time DeliveryCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:National Diploma in Purchasing or equivalent. BS or BA in Purchasing, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Information Technology or other business-related fieldMinimum 5-7 years of experience in Procurement, or same/similar Industry work experience (e.g., quality/engineering/costing/etc)Procurement professional background and/or Quality/supply chain/technical backgroundSolid working experience, with sourcing/supply chain exposure (manufacturing/automotive/rail industries preferred), with at least 3 years in managementPurchasing professional background and/or Quality/supply chain/technical backgroundInternational mind-setCommunication (both verbal and non-verbal)Internal and external influencing skillsAbility to work in complex organization and to manage wide transversal networkNegotiation SkillsStrategic visionAbility to work independentlyWillingness to travelBEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:Strong leadership (in front of Supplier Top Management and Alstom Top Management)Cross Functional coordination between external and internal stakeholdersCan drive the Change/ is a Change AgentAutonomousAgile and innovative, open to new concepts to improve overall Supplier ED performanceAble to get global vision of the business, risks & opportunitiesAbility to train and adviseYou don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
