JOB TITLE: LIFE CYCLE SERVICE SAFETY OFFICER We are seeking a Life Cycle Service Safety Officer to join our LCSteam. You will be responsible for providing Metso's customers with professional technical support of its products. In this position, you will report to the LCS Contract Manager. This position is mainly located in Kathu.
TEAM YOU BELONG TO You will join a team of Supervisors and Technicians that strive to effectively deliver a seamless experience, that delivers a "technical solution" that meets the customers' needs, thus supporting the sales team to enhance and build relationships with the downstream effect on sales realization. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as the Service Business Line Technical Support Teams, to assure a common understanding/application of technical and safety support and information to support and provide excellent customer service on Metso's equipment. This includes Metso colleagues, Metso visitors, and Metso management.
WHAT YOU'LL DO You are responsible for the following per your allocated area of responsibility:
Ensuring that the LCS team has access to high quality risk assessments. Establishing the best safety support services for the Metso team. Effectively and accurately manage safety quality of the team on site. Must be able to effectively and accurately work in a fast-paced environment on several projects simultaneously, with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks. Performing routine and non-routine safety inspections and compliance. Ensuring that work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and provide input directed at improving the safety, efficiency, and overall compliance of the team on site. Recommending safety plans and assistance to Maintenance Supervisors. Following all plant-specific Policies e.g. No Smoking areas, lockout, Confined Space, Working at Heights, PPE, etc. WHO YOU ARE Matric (Grade 12). Computer Literate. Minimum 5 years' field service experience on mining safety processes - Essential. Relevant safety qualifications (Example – Samtrac). Ability to work in a team atmosphere. Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act. Knowledge of Passport 360 (Optional). ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR THIS ROLE A self-motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet deadlines. Good communication and cooperation. Interpersonal skills are required due to regular interaction and feedback with the customers. Positive customer relations, communication, and delegation skills are essential.
