Laundry Attendant

As a Laundry Attendant at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, you are responsible for the safe and proper operation of the washers and dryers in the Laundry Department. If you're looking to develop your skills and be part of the future of luxury, this is your moment!
Primary Responsibilities Include: Operating the machines on a daily basis within the laundry department, which includes the following machines: Girbau, Ipso, dry cleaning machine, tumble dryers, and roller ironer.Ensuring that all machines are cleaned and in good working condition.Sorting different linen types and specifications of garments.Ensuring that the linen/garments get the correct chemical dosage where necessary.Recording all linen loads on a spreadsheet daily for monthly production purposes.Loading the particular machines according to the washing process.Reporting any broken or faulty machinery immediately.Counting and assisting with monthly/quarterly operating equipment stock count.Fulfilling any other reasonable duties that you may be asked to perform.Requirements What You Bring: Previous machine operator experience on washing machines will be an advantage.Detail-oriented with a concern for quality and quantity.The ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.Knowledge of linen classifications.Knowledge of chemicals is advantageous.Strong technical and basic maintenance skills will be an advantage.What We Offer: At Mount Nelson, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture built on kindness, active listening, and genuine connections with our colleagues and guests.
