Hire Resolve is seeking a Laser Cutting Machine Operator for our client, a prominent steel company, to set up, operate, and maintain laser cutting machines that cut and engrave materials with precision.
This role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, programming the laser machine, and ensuring top-quality output by following safety protocols and adhering to production schedules.
The ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot any issues, and strive to improve productivity to meet and exceed customer requirements.

Responsibilities Interpret technical drawings to perform precise cuts according to specifications.
Set up, operate, and calibrate laser cutting machines for accurate cutting and engraving tasks.
Adjust machine parameters and settings to optimize material handling and performance.
Program and organize files to ensure efficient material alignment and machine operation.
Perform quality checks on finished products, verifying adherence to specifications and standards.
Complete routine maintenance on machines, including lens cleaning and part replacement.
Diagnose and troubleshoot machine issues to reduce downtime and maintain productivity.
Adhere to health and safety protocols, including PPE use and workspace cleanliness.
Organize, label, and prepare completed components for timely delivery to meet production targets.
Record detailed information on job completions, materials used, and inventory levels.
Requirements High school diploma (Matric) with an understanding of technical drawings.
4–5 years of experience in laser cutting within a steel manufacturing setting.
Background in manufacturing or industrial environments, with a focus on laser cutting equipment.
Competent in the setup, programming, and operation of flat-bed laser cutting machines.
Proficient in reading technical drawings and accurately interpreting specifications.
Knowledgeable in CNC programming and operations.
Experience with press brake machinery and general material handling.
Preferred: Valid Counterbalance Forklift (FLT) License.
Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Clear and effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and supervisors.
