We are a large unitary authority spanning across the south Manchester catchment area, the rising uplands of the Peak District and deep rural countryside in the south of the borough taking in dynamic urban centres and thriving market towns and villages.An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Landscape Architect within the Council's Environmental Planning Team, in the Planning Department.
The Environmental Planning Team is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals within the Planning Department, providing specialist advice on landscape architecture, design, arboriculture, ecology and heritage with a mission to improve and protect the varied and high quality environments of Cheshire East.ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Landscape Officer, you will have a core remit to secure the best landscape outcomes for development in Cheshire East through managing a case load of planning consultations and appeals.
The role provides the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects including:Developing landscape guidance and policy for the Local Plan;Preparing and managing landscape planning consultations, including visual and landscape assessment advice;Advising on landscape design matters across a variety of projects, and managing implementation.Cheshire East is one of the busiest Planning Authorities in the country and we have a really diverse portfolio of work.
Accordingly the role is also really diverse and no two applications (or weeks!)
are the same.

Starting Salary: £34,314.Key Benefits: generous local government pension, paid professional subscriptions, 34 days annual leave (inc. bank holidays) rising to 39 after 5 years' service, ongoing CPD and professional development.
