Job Purpose To assist in providing quality services and safe operation of Lamproom equipment and tools for health, safety, and productivity in the mining sector.
Minimum Requirements Grade 12 certificate or equivalent with mathematics and physical science on standard grade (D symbol); At least 1 year experience as a lamproom operator and/or in a technical type role/environment; Basic understanding of lamp room equipment and tools; Good computer skills (Microsoft package). Operational Activities Performs day-to-day activities in accordance with the prescribed DMR guidelines and as stipulated, but not limited to, the mine code of practice. Provides legal and competent services. Compile and submit the necessary reports (legal documentation). Resolves all customer complaints and grievances in a timely and professional manner. Maintain and monitor lamp room equipment. Maintains thorough and up-to-date knowledge of internal and external procedures, schedules, and directives pertinent to the lamp room, and attends in-service, mandatory, basic, advanced, and/or specialized training to maintain current proficiency or learn new job-related information and skills. Maintain housekeeping in the area of responsibility. Liaise with Lampsman to assist in ensuring quality and safety of work and that contractual obligations are met. Liaise with visitors, clients, staff, and others to assist with general inquiries. Support Provides efficient and effective administrative support and customer service as required. Keep Lampsman updated of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect the customer or our company. Feedback on a regular basis to Lampsman. Participate as appropriate in quality programs implemented across the company. Work, Health, and Safety Actively identifies existing and potential hazards in the workplace. Reports identified hazards to designated persons. Contributes to workplace meetings, inspections, or other consultative activities. Ensure medical and inductions are valid. Complies with and actively promotes Company Health and Safety policies, practices, and procedures. Adhere to specific risk assessments before commencing daily tasks. Use of personal protective equipment. Community Relations Behaves in a manner that portrays the Company as a professional service provider. Ensure all interactions within the community portray the Company as a professional services provider to mining sectors. Quality Management System Adheres to the established practices and policies and reports any matters of concern in a prompt manner. Comply with the Company's Quality Management System, Procedures, Practices, and Policies. Administrative Monitored timesheets.
