Job Purpose:
Under direct supervision, utilize fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures to perform routine clinical sample processing, with a focus on bioanalysis and soluble biomarker testing. This role requires the application of established techniques and standard procedures to execute laboratory testing. Support the laboratory operations team with sample processing and day-to-day administrative duties.
Main Responsibilities:
Conduct routine clinical sample analysis and PBMC isolations following in-house SOPs and validated protocols under the guidance of Scientists.
Ensure clear audit trails by performing quality control on all generated information and data.
Report and assist in the transcription checking of generated data.
Assist with multiple projects in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Manage, monitor, and order consumable stock to ensure sufficient reagents for assays.
Perform stock takes and manage stock on a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Adhere strictly to regulatory compliance and safety requirements, including GCLP, SOPs, Health & Safety policies.
Act as Chief Analyst on assay methods which includes performing calculations and taking responsibility of method.
Accurately and efficiently manage timesheets and planning.
Ad-hoc Responsibilities:
Write, review, and validate SOPs, SWPs, documents, forms, and spreadsheets.
Document and update IQ/OQ/PQ of equipment, including new equipment, preventative maintenance, and services.
Ensure equipment used for assays is fit for purpose and within service dates.
Update equipment service databases and labels.
Perform set-ups, start-ups, and verification of various analyzers and laboratory equipment.
Maintain daily good housekeeping (GHK) duties.
Complete and maintain documentation related to clinical trials, including sample logistics tracking forms and method sheets.
Ensure timely and documented receipt and proper storage of all samples and reagent deliveries.
Assist in training other staff members in company procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
Vocational training as a Medical/Biomedical Laboratory Technician (e.g., National Certificate in Clinical Pathology) or 2-3 years of relevant technical experience.
Experience in pipette handling, following standard protocols, and using basic equipment (e.g., centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, plate washers, incubators).
Prior experience with PBMCs and processing human biological samples.
Experience working in a GxP and/or GCLP accredited environment.
Skills and Competencies:
