Laboratory Technician

Purpose of the job:To ensure product quality performance is in line with customer requirements throughout all production activities, using the standards practice and testing methodologies.To record all test results including product information for traceability.To identify and record all product non-conformances and ensure that they are reported to relevant stakeholders.Responsibilities:Conduct daily quality control checks on incoming raw material, in-process product, and finished/packed product.Conduct daily quality control sample testing for equipment verification and intermediate checks on instruments to ensure 100% accuracy.Sampling and testing production products/samples against required specifications.Communicate with Millers/plant operators on any detected product non-conformances and assist with attempts to bring product quality within required tolerances.Ensure that out of specification control samples are investigated and root cause with corrective actions are provided.Maintain good housekeeping in the lab daily by ensuring that the work area meets company hygiene policy.Ensure machine breakdowns are recorded and reported to the Lab Supervisor.Issue Certificate of Analysis of final product on request.Ensure LIMS data is captured accurately and in real time.Label and store retained samples in line with procedure.Participate in Invocom and internal and external audits.Responsible for adhering to the ISO 17025 requirements.
