Laboratory Technician

Job Description: Responsible for analysis, monitoring and evaluation of materials and plant processes (e.g. metal pretreatment, e-coat) to ensure strict adherence to the company quality standards. Use analytical techniques and chemical knowledge to assist with investigations and problem solving. Conducts material evaluation as per the ISIR process. Conducts calibration/verification of equipment. Ensures adherence to SHEQ standards. Responsible for self-development. Job Requirements: Minimum NQF 7 - Degree in Chemistry or relevant equivalent 3 years experience working in a chemical laboratory Experience with automotive coatings, metal pretreatment and e-coat processes would be advantageous Experience with various analytical techniques - e.g. Karl Fischer titration, scanning electron microscope, FTIR spectrophotometer and test methods e.g. titrations. Analytical and conceptual thinking. Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Ability to perform the minimum required physical and mental requirements of the function.
