Laboratory Manager

A Petrochemical company based in Johannesburg is looking to hire a Petrochemical Laboratory Manager. This role involves managing a team of skilled technicians and scientists, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all testing and research activities, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.The individual must have the following working experience:3 + Years' experience in the relevant field/Previous experience in a refining, chemical and petroleum lab preferableLaboratory operations as per ISO9001 and the QMSManage and mentor a team of laboratory technicians and scientists, fostering a collaborative and productive work environmentDevelop, implement, and monitor laboratory protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirementsCoordinate and oversee all testing and research activities, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of resultsMaintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in optimal working conditionDevelop and manage the laboratory budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising qualityCollaborate with other departments, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to support overall company goals and objectivesStay updated on the latest advancements in petrochemical research and laboratory technologiesQualifications:Qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related fieldA minimum of 7 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 3 years in a managerial roleExtensive knowledge of petrochemical processes, products, and testing methodsStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesFamiliarity with industry standards and regulatory requirementsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software
