We thrive by continuing to re-invest in our facilities, technology and people.Do You Have What It TakesTo be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:Required CompetenciesREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCEAbility to present information both written and verbally.Strong attention to detail and quality management skill.Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work as part of a team (Team player).Good timekeeping and time management skills.Basic knowledge and understanding of ISO17025 requirements.Good knowledge and understanding of ICP-OES and classical wet chemistry.Basic knowledge of analytical method development and validation knowledge.Honest, Sober Habits, Adaptable and Flexibility.No criminal record.Required QualificationsGrade 12 (With Maths & Science).Analytical Chemistry Diploma.Required Work ExperienceMinimum 2 years of Analytical Laboratory experience.ResponsibilitiesEnsuring at all times that a high degree of accuracy and precision is applied to methods and procedures through incorporating and promoting good laboratory practice principles.Responsible for ensuring that work throughput is followed in accordance to documented methods and procedures. It is the post holder's responsibility to inform the Senior Analyst / Shift Chemist of any failure in compliance to documented methods.Workload that is assigned to the post holder is effectively managed through the most cost-effective utilization of time and resources.Advising the Senior Lab Analyst / Shift Chemist of repetitive technical problems relating to day-to-day analytical procedures and standard operating practices.Maintaining records and laboratory data such that work is clearly and easily auditable and traceable.Processing analytical data unsupervised in preparation of results being reported.Ensuring the confidentiality of all results at all times.Ensuring laboratory equipment and instruments are well maintained at all times with faulty equipment being brought to the attention of the Shift Chemist immediately.Performing routine maintenance of equipment as instructed by the Senior Analyst /Shift Chemist.Performing instrument calibrations when required, routinely performing instrument checks and recording all relevant data, as instructed by the Shift Chemist.Ensuring that all laboratory work areas and workstations are kept clean and tidy, i.e. Good Housekeeping.Ensuring that the Company's Health & Safety policy is applied effectively in areas under the Post Holder's control.Upholding ISO 17025 / SANAS Accreditation requirements.BenefitsWe are offering an excellent opportunity with a salary and benefits package to match.CLOSING DATE: 01 August 2024.Apply Now
