We're on the lookout for an experienced Lab Analyst to accurately analyse various samples throughout the Mill on a routine basis and to accurately report results for the purpose of process control and sales.
This role reports into the Chemist. As a Lab Analyst, you will be responsible for: Conduct detailed analysis of paper samples using sophisticated instruments, following ISO, TAPPI, and internal test methods.Prepare, test, and assess paper samples to ensure alignment with quality standards, taking corrective action as needed.Enter test results accurately into LIS or Autoline, verifying them against standard specifications.Communicate findings and deviations with Production Shift Supervisors, ensuring timely and accurate adjustments.Maintain quality standards by managing retests, duplicate sample storage, and reporting on special sample requests.Liaise with plant and QC staff to optimize processes and address any equipment issues promptly.Perform first-level maintenance on lab equipment and maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.Uphold SHEQ standards, reporting safety concerns and ensuring proper PPE use.Support resource utilization and self-development within the lab.What are we looking for: Grade 12 Maths and Science / N3 Pulp and Paper.1 - 3 years relevant experience in the Pulp and Paper industry, preferably Laboratory.Chemistry / Lab related qualification will be advantageous.What's in it for you?
