The purpose of this underwriting position is to underwrite new policies and renewals, negotiations, etc.
Responsibilities:
Underwrite policies related to amendments, queries, new business.
Telephone contact with brokers when they phone in with queries or amendments/additional covers.
Capture underwriting data and follow UW policy schedule distribution process.
Endorsement quotes within mandate.
Preparation and release of renewal documentation.
Identify system errors, escalate, and follow up on outcome.
Knowledge of insurance industry and policy wording.
Process and follow up on Return Debits, assisting with Debtor's control.
Process refunds and capture on system within mandate.
Promote positive team dynamic.
Adherence to FAIS regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
FAIS accredited/compliant (complete full qualification as set by regulation).
Successfully completed RE5.
A minimum of two (2) years' working experience within an Insurance company and or Insurance Brokerage.
A minimum of two (2) years' underwriting experience in commercial lines.
