The Junior Transport Operations Manager will work closely with senior management to oversee and optimize the transportation operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety standards.ResponsibilitiesPlanning and Optimization: Collaborate with the operations team to plan and optimize loads, considering factors such as distance, traffic, and delivery schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.Supplier Management: Work closely with the suppliers and build relationships to ensure service levels are achieved.Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations, such as on-time delivery, on-time arrival, turnaround times, etc. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize performance.Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all suppliers comply to the required standards and insurance documentation are in order.Customer Service: Attend to customer complaints and inquiries, resolve delivery issues, and provide exceptional service to customers.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the transportation operations.
