Junior Trader - Maize/Wheat My client, a leading agricultural commodity trading house, is seeking a Junior Trader (Maize/Wheat) to join their team.

The primary focus is on grains, but they are open to candidates with experience in trading other agricultural commodities, especially those with SAFEX experience. You will be responsible for identifying trading opportunities, executing trades, and ensuring profitable trading in the market. You will collaborate closely with other team members, analyze market trends, and develop trading strategies to maximize returns.

Key Responsibilities: Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of soybean market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and global factors that impact prices. Stay updated on relevant news and reports, especially those related to SAFEX markets. Trade Execution: Execute buy and sell orders for soybeans, optimizing trade entry and exit points to maximize profitability, both in physical and SAFEX derivatives trading, while adhering to risk management guidelines. Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies that account for the unique features of SAFEX derivatives, protecting the company's interests and ensuring a prudent approach to trading. Monitor and manage exposure effectively. Portfolio Management: Maintain and expand the portfolio of soybean trades, including SAFEX derivatives. Diversify trading strategies and positions to balance risk and reward. Client Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with clients, farmers, suppliers, and other market participants, with a keen focus on SAFEX interactions. Negotiate contracts and manage long-term agreements as needed. Compliance: Ensure all trading activities, including SAFEX trading, comply with relevant regulations and internal compliance policies. Reporting: Provide regular reports on trading activities, performance, and market analysis to senior management, with specific attention to SAFEX trading results. Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies related to SAFEX trading and other trading strategies. Qualifications: To be considered for this position, candidates MUST come from the agricultural commodity trading space.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (finance, agriculture, economics, etc.). Minimum 1-4 years of experience in trading agricultural commodities. Proven track record of successful commodity trading and a solid understanding of risk management and hedging strategies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in relevant trading software and tools, including those used for SAFEX trading. Knowledge of agricultural market fundamentals and supply chain dynamics.
