Junior RF Engineer / Technician (Aviation) – Germiston.
Junior Systems Engineer to support the development and maintenance of our cutting-edge Unmanned and Counter UAS systems.
The successful candidate will assist in specifying, integration, testing and troubleshooting electronic and RF equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
They will collaborate with senior engineers on innovative projects and provide technical support for product demonstrations.
Job Responsibilities:
Gain a comprehensive understanding of all technical aspects related to the operation and maintenance of the products being sold.
Liaise with OEMs regarding technical matters and ensure that Operation, Maintenance, and Technical Manuals meet the standards required for ICASA Type approval and CAA certification when necessary.
Assist with technical research to identify suitable products and systems aligned with the mission of Safomar Technologies.
Design and implement equipment modifications to comply with CE EMC and Safety tests.
Ensure that all equipment sold is equipped with the latest software updates and provide clients with access to these updates.
Support the Sales team by facilitating smooth and fully operational product demonstrations.
Provide technical training on the systems sold.
Compile and deliver technical presentations.
Compile and deliver technical inspection and test reports.
Present to the management team with well analysed and documented data regarding product specification and technical comparisons for the purpose of product portfolio expansion.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
Develop a trusted technical advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders.
Ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions that meet customer needs and objectives.
Be available for weekend responsibilities, such as air shows and equipment field trials.
Adhere to company responsibilities and uphold ethical standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
A bachelor's degree or national diploma in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or qualification in related field of Aerospace, Radio Frequency, Radio or Electronics.
Knowledge in systems engineering principles, engineering documentation and drawings.
Be adept with electronic test instruments such as spectrum analysers, RF signal generators, and multimeters for maintaining and testing equipment functionality.
Possession of an accredited drone pilot license would be advantageous.
Specialised focus on radio frequency technology in drone systems.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for drone and anti-drone technologies.
Skills & Attributes:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for radio frequency technology are essential for this role.
Demonstrate ability to communicate, present and influence credibility, effectively at all levels of the organisation.
Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Own vehicle.
SA citizenship or SA permanent residency essential.
