We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior R&D Technologist to join our dynamic R&D team.Job Summary:The Junior R&D Technologist plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of fabric and trim testing, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining comprehensive records to support product development and production processes. This role is essential for maintaining high standards in product quality and contributing to the continuous improvement of our products.Key Responsibilities:Assist the R&D Quality Control team by checking styles (samples or bulk) and uploading comments within required timelines.Conduct and process tests on all fabrics, fusing, trims, vinyls, transfers, and direct-to-fabric prints (DTFs) to ensure timely completion, including heat shrinkage tests.Communicate with fabric and trims suppliers during the testing process and on bulk orders.Manage the approval and documentation of fabric and trims, ensuring that they are handed over to the Fabric & Trims Store prior to bulk order arrivals.Inspect and test bulk fabrics upon arrival to ensure they match approved samples, and communicate results to relevant departments and suppliers.Maintain detailed and organised records of product quality, testing procedures, and results.Accurately apply appliques to samples, recording the process in spec sheets and relevant platforms.Conduct time studies for sealing points, documenting them in spec sheets.Serve as the second-in-command (2IC) for the R&D QC as needed.Requirements:MatricDegree in Clothing Textiles, Clothing Management, Fashion Design, or similar field2-3 years in a similar roleExcellent attention to detailDeadline-driven and organizedProactive and able to take initiativeStrong team playerCommitted to maintaining high-quality standardsRemuneration: R15 000 - R18 000 pm, CTCBenefits: 50% discount on all Ciovita products, Medical and Provident Fund ContributionsLocation: 199 Albert Rd, Woodstock, Cape TownType: PermanentReference: #CVA-R&D08/24Applicants to please email your CV and cover letter to ****** with the subject #CVA-R&D08/24
